Prior to adding the fiberglass, a gel coat is applied onto the mold surface. After the gel coat has cured, fiberglass is applied into the mold, and then rolled down, and any air voids are removed. The mold is then over laid with fiberglass to make a very strong and durable custom molded trailer fender. After the curing process, the fender is removed from the mold, trimmed, polished, and custom painted. The final step is to cover the paint with a protective and shiny clear coat.
